One of Wolfshead Squadron's X-Wings

Wolfshead Squadron is actually a shared asset between Starfighter Command and Alliance Intelligence, and is not considered a normal combat formation. Wolfshead's primary mission is to serve as a "firefighting" force for the Alliance, and is dispatched by either Starfighter Command or Alliance Intelligence to perform dangerous and precarious missions. To further this end, all members of the Squadron are more than just starfighter pilots. Each adds specialties in other areas, such as tactics, espionage, slicing, communications, or ground combat. The goal is to produce a small, relatively self-contained force that can adapt to a wide variety of missions, both in the cockpit and out.

As befitting its mission, Wolfshead Squadron has more and different equipment than the average fighter squadron. Based onboard the Nebulon B Frigate Wolf's Den, the squadron flies all four of the primary Alliance starfighters (X-, Y-, A-, and B-wings), the Lambda-class armed transport shuttle, and a modified Skipray Blastboat. For particular missions, the squadron may also be supplied with other craft--even captured Imperial fighters! The Wolf's Den itself is fitted with extra communications and eavesdropping equipment.

Wolfshead Squadron started out originally as White Squadron, the successor of Praying Mantis Squad.  In the very beginning Praying Mantis was an all-female group of elite pilots based aboard the Frigate Mantis, whose speciality lay in heavy assault and orbital bombardments. However, following a disastrous mission against the Imperials, not only were half their fighter complement missing and presumed lost, but the Frigate Mantis was destroyed as well. Details of the mission are still classified and unavailable for review.

Due to the heavy losses in pilots, the squadron deemed it necessary to restructure and change its mission statement. In the interests of resuming its battle against the Empire, the squad decided to open its membership to include any qualified pilots interested in joining. Female pilots were far too rare, and the remaining pilots neither wished to disband, nor to take extreme amounts of time in finding only new female qualified pilots.

After a short time of reorganizing White Squadron was born and rose to an unprecedented strenght and to a place bustling with activity. Unfortunately, White Squadrons Commanding Officer at that time - Commander Sherry Krenzel - was called back to Alliance High Command. Nine months later, and after a lot of difficult and demanding missions most of White Squadron's pilots gave back their commission as the Alliance was about to create a new Squadron and started recruiting amongst the specialists aboard the Joan d'Arc. So it's no wonder that most - but not all - of Wolfshead Squadron's pilots served in White Squadron and that their tales are still told in the Reading Room and Theater or the Frigate Wolf's Den.

Any pilots currently without a home and are interested in joining our ranks are encouraged to either send a message or their pilot files to either Commander Schroeder, Wolfshead CO, or Captain Vyper Wolfshead XO for review.

Likewise, if you are in need of assistance in completing any requirements, feel free to contact one of our members. We will be more than happy to assist you in your training and in furthering the Alliance's cause against the Empire.
