| Most of
Shadow's early life is surrounded in mystery, as she
speaks little of that time. However, some time in her
late teens, she joined a smuggling ring learning the ins
and outs of the trade and her responsibilities consisted
of flying escort for the ships and defending against
marauders who would have stolen their cargo. Later, as
she became more knowledgeable in the field, her
responsibilities expanded and she was also responsible
for finding and dealing with the various customers. On
her 21st birthday, she decided to go on her own doing
freelance work for various outfits. With the blessing of
her mentor, Mark Brik'kaid, she started her venture with
a freighter and several contact names. Several years later, she was still doing freelance work on her own when she received a communication from Mark asking to meet and possibly get involved in a new area of work (see POV: Shadow Games). However, the meeting never took place thanks to an Imperial attack which destroyed Mark's ship killing all on board. Unknowing of who was responsible for the attack, and having sworn vengeance, she searched for clues eventually getting in touch with an old friend, Avery "Foxfire" Schroeder. Unbeknownst to Shadow, Foxfire had since joined the Alliance, and suspected Imperial involvement in the attack. The two were able to meet and come up with a plan to attack the Imperial strike force which had killed Mark. In the counter-attack against the Imperial force, Shadow's freighter was destroyed thus destroying her livelihood and Foxfire as a result offered her a job with Praying Mantis Squad, as a Rebel pilot. Since joining the Alliance, Shadow has made several friendships, and has become involved in the Alliance's REBL Studios. While she is an intern for the studio, she has been known to cause some trouble by hijacking the signal from the DJs and pre-empting them from their shift. To date, any attempts at hijack-proofing the studios have all failed. With the re-organisation of Mantis Squad to White Squad, Shadow's responsibilities increased, and she was appointed to the position of Intelligence Officer. Prior to joining the Alliance, Shadow had seen indifferent to the injustices practised by the Empire, seeing it as a bureaucratic nuisance more than anything else. However, following the death of her long-time friend and mentor, she was determined to see an end to the corruption and see to the Empire's downfall. Shadow herself is a quiet person who enjoys flying reconnaissance missions in her A-Wing fighter. Off-duty, she is a private person keeping to herself a fair amount. When she is not busy planning ways of hijacking the signal at REBL, she can often be found listening to classical or jazz music in one of the smaller sound studios. |
